Our Story
Hailijana Bloom – The Empowerment Center of East Texas was founded with one purpose: to create a safe and empowering place for survivors to rebuild their lives.
After working closely with survivors and families facing domestic violence and crisis situations, founder Jennifer Stewart recognized the growing need for trauma-informed, peer-led support services in East Texas. Many survivors were struggling to find safe housing, emotional support, life skills resources, and long-term guidance after leaving abusive situations.
Hailijana Bloom was created to help fill those gaps while working alongside existing organizations and community partners — not against them. We believe collaboration creates stronger communities and better outcomes for survivors.
The sunflower and butterfly within our branding represent resilience, transformation, growth, and new beginnings — a reminder that healing is possible, even after the darkest seasons.
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide services that help survivors regain independence, confidence, stability, and hope. Through advocacy, peer support, emergency shelter, life skills training, job readiness assistance, safety planning, childcare support during classes, and future transitional housing programs, we are building pathways toward healing and long-term success.
